HORSING AROUND
The idea of Horse and riders continues, and comes from my experience as Artist in Residence at the Leach Pottery in St Ives, in 2014, 2017 and 2018, when I was researching the tradition of equestrian roof finials in the West Country. The 2014 residency allowed me to re-visit my love of horses, and was the foundation of my solo exhibition,” Horsing Around” at the Gallery of BC Ceramics. The publications, 2017 “UP on the Roof – Bernard Leach and the Equestrian Tile Tradition” by Peter Smith and myself, and the 2nd Edition, in 2018, are the result of these residencies.
